Berlin architects really have a thing about coloured glass. This was by our hotel. It's the modern building they added to flank the bombed-out Memorial Church on the Ku'dam. Tutt and I went to a classical music concert in it. It's an octagon made of blue glass bricks.
During the concert, I did some mental maths (I find classical music quite meditative). I reckon on there being 11,200 glass bricks in this church, and there's a tower on the other side which must have even more. They're all unique. And it was built in the '50s.
This is some epic dedication to blue. I am impressed.
